Peace in a World of Chaos

As I sit here and rummage through the countless posts of the Facebook news feed, the majority of updates are about the presidential inauguration parade, the actual event, the march for (insert what you are protesting against here), the posts that are “for” Trump, the posts that are “against” Trump, the posts that will “miss Obama”, the posts of protesting and rioting against local businesses by those who obviously cannot handle that Trump has become President, the posts about “suck it up Clinton supporters,” the posts about President this, President that, women empowerment, women’s rights, minority rights, blacks lives matter, blacks protesting this, whites protesting that, endless posts of this and that, and that and this…it seems to go on and on and never end.

I sit here in awe, of the multitudes of these posts and wonder why I haven’t seen one post concerning Christ? I haven’t read one post of what Jesus has done for them, or how Jesus suffered so that they can live, or how the reality of going to hell can and will impact their daily decisions. Or, if a person is concerned if someone else goes to hell, or any posts asking for answers concerning the real events that will take place unexpectedly. Isn’t anyone concerned of what is truly going on and happening? What is really going on in a realm that is the true reality? The forces of evil and good battling beyond the scopes of their ignorance. The truth of the matter being that God is revealed through natural revelation, one need not read the bible to be informed that Someone, highly powerful, made this world and all that is in it. As it clearly states,

For ever since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through His workmanship [all His creation, the wonderful things that He has made], so that they [who fail to believe and trust in Him] are without excuse and without defense. Romans 1:20, AMP

Do you not wonder the supernaturalism of how things work together so perfectly? Such as, how do our bodies heal themselves with time? Only God could create a body that can heal itself. Did you really think we should be dissecting monkeys for medicinal answers? (Just an example) Isn’t that the most unintelligent scenario ever heard of?

I guess what I am getting at is why is everyone consumed with politics, governance, healthcare, who disrespected who, and the like? When they can fully come to know the One who created all of these things and can fully rely on Him to fix them as He sees fit? It says in the bible, “Cast your anxieties on Him for He cares for you,” (1Pet 5:7) “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Prov 3:5) “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.” (Ps 37:23) Meaning that when you put your trust in God, you no longer need to worry about your journey, you no longer need to be so consumed with the things of the world for He will guide you and take care of you. Isn’t it much easier to allow Him to lead you in life? After all, He knows what is best and can see your future and all contained in it thereof.

It is so very peaceful to trust that Someone is directing and dictating my life because I am allowing Him to do so. I no longer need to worry what kind of health plan I will have just because there is a new President in office and even if there isn’t a new President in office. The bible says, “Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t there more to life than food and more to the body than clothing?” (Matt 6:25). He is saying do not worry about what you will eat, what you will drink, what you will wear for it will be provided for you! How wonderful is that?! You may ask, “Well how does this happen?” I know at first it may seem difficult to grasp, going from depending on yourself and worrying about these things to fully trusting Him to provide them, not knowing how He works to do that, but that’s the great thing about Him! You don’t have to know these things right away. You only need to believe that He will. All you need to do is trust and believe in what His word is telling you. That is how you can start to become His. When you belong to Him, nothing can stand against you! (Rom 8:31) He does not expect this to happen overnight, it is a process. You can come to Him however you are: full of anger, deceit, jealousy, broke – just as you are! Those negative things that prohibit you from having a good quality life, one full of love, He will work out of you. He never promises that life will be completely easy, only better, more peaceful, and when you are up against all odds, He will give you comfort. (1 Cor. 2:4) Comfort in knowing that He will never leave you nor forsake you. (Deut 31:6)

Presidents will come and Presidents will go. Facebook will flood the news feed with frivolous propaganda of nothingness, but God will remain forever. His word will never wither! (Is 40:8) We are only here for a bit, then we are gone. Why spend your life worrying about the things you cannot change? The world being as it is? Why not have a peaceful mind? Rest in His presence. Knowing that, no matter how bad the world is or becomes, you are safe, you are shielded, in His all-knowing, ever-sustaining love, that will remain for all of eternity.

In Philippians 2:1-11, Paul teaches on humility and being like-minded with Christ. Christ showed perfect humility by taking on the worlds sin and being the complete atonement for all mankind. He never thought Himself better than anyone and through His example portrayed perfect love and humility. In John 13:5, Christ washed His disciples’ feet showing that He did not think more highly of Himself than His students. He also said that we should wash others feet and exemplify the same as He has done. Humility by definition means a modest or low view of one’s own importance; humbleness. “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.” (James 4:10 NIV)

Christ wants us to show others compassion, be united in unity in one spirit and do nothing according to our own selfish ambition. If we put ourselves first, then we do not have Christ in us and are living according to our flesh. The Holy Spirit cannot operate in us if we live according to our fleshly desires. We must be united in one spirit, Christ’s Spirit, only then can we personify His love through humility.

As Christians we look to please Jesus. The Bible tells us in Philippians 2:2, being like-minded, having the same love, and being in one spirit will complete His joy. Paul teaches us how to please our Lord and how to be like Him. It should be every Christians desire to be as one with Him. People should see Jesus us in us, through us, and feel His presence when relating to us. Only then can unbelievers experience Christ and be drawn to Him.

Growing up I often felt unloved. Not wanted. Unimportant. Set aside.

So naturally the majority of my adult life I was always searching for love. Searching for something that would fill the void in my heart and life. I looked for it in men, in material things, in bad habits, in friends, in family, and even animals. Those things seemed to pacify me for a time, a season, but they were temporary fixes. Always ending up unsatisfied and looking again.

I read something today that taught me I was looking for God. Because God is love. It made sense now that I’m finding out what true love is.

I always thought I needed to be worthy of His love. That I couldn’t feel that kind of love because it is not a tangible love from a person or thing. That I needed to do this or that and be perfect in a sense. No. All I needed to do was receive it. Let go and let God. Everything else falls into place if you just let it. He doesn’t require you to be smart, beautiful, or wealthy. He wants you even more if you aren’t any of those things.

Love is what this world has forgotten. Love is what made this place. Love made us.

Without it we are…nothing. But with it we can be everything and more.

Hope is what I’ve held onto for all these years. Hope has always found its way into my heart.

Even when darkness surrounded me and was all I knew, it was hope that abounded in me.

Without hope I would not be here today. It was hope that helped me through to my next step in my journey every time.

HOPE – an optimistic attitude of mind based on an expectation of positive outcomes related to events and circumstances in one’s life or the world.

In the past, I hoped for a new life, a better way, to live in the light, to be a better mother, friend and person. I hoped I would be able to help others the way I was helped so many times.

I love hope. For some, it endures, for others, it dissipates. No matter how small, if you fall and get back up, you have hope. If you are still even breathing, you have hope. Keep holding on to that hope because right about the time you feel like giving up, hope comes through. The only time one fails, is when one gives up. If you aren’t failing every now and then, then you aren’t really trying anyway.

My hope transformed into faith. Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance in what we do not see. It is the things we hope for that we cannot see but come to reality only because we believed. We only need to believe…

Today, I have faith. Faith is similar to hope. Except with and in faith, the outcome that arrives is good and satisfactory whether it was the expected and/or desired outcome or not. After faith develops, we find a trust. Trust and confidence from the hope we have faith in.

Continue in hope, to find faith, to then believe, and develop trust. The very things that will set you free. Completely free…

My Saviour Gives

Though your times may have some sorrows,

Our days are numbered, grief do not borrow.

Though your heart it may be troubled,

Jesus says, “Trust in Me” your joy is doubled,

Open your eyes in your heart to Him only,

Be never forsaken or ever found lonely.

We don’t always know the things in store,

we forever seem to yearn for more.

Life is full of hardships and battles,

Be thankful to know you’re under His shadows.

For when we feel we can no longer live,

He shows up in time and freely gives.
